About Laura
We all face moments in our lives that feel overwhelming. The decision to start therapy can feel daunting, and it takes courage to reach out for the support you need. I believe that therapy is an invaluable space and source of support when we experience anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, issues of self-esteem, isolation, or any number of challenges we face throughout life. The therapeutic relationship is a partnership, and I am committed to working collaboratively with individuals from all walks of life to support positive change and emotional growth.
I am a Registered Social Worker with experience in Canada and the U.S. I received her Master’s of Social Work (MSW) from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work, and am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers (OCSWSSW), Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW), and the Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW). I hold the therapeutic relationship at the forefront of my work while also incorporating methods of mindfulness-based interventions, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and attachment-based approaches. I am committed to Anti-Oppressive Practice by supporting individuals whose experience of oppression has had profound personal consequences, and to help them move forward with a greater sense of empowerment. I believe that our learning is never finished, and is deeply committed to ongoing professional development and reflection to best meet clients’ needs.
I provide a safe and confidential space for my clients to reflect, work through challenges, and tap into their own strength. Guided by a sense of compassion and honesty, I am committed to providing therapy that meets each client's unique needs, honours their personal values and lived experience, and allows them to move forward with a greater sense of purpose, meaning, and connection.
If you are struggling to make it into our office on a regular basis, I offer online therapy sessions through OnCall Health Service. Please inquire for more information.
